EUVAC.NET is a European surveillance network for vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. It involves the national surveillance/public health institutions of 32 European countries.  The diseases under surveillance comprise of measles, rubella, mumps, pertussis and varicella.

As co-ordinator my main responsibilities include:

• co-ordinating efforts of European national surveillance/public health institutions for the surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases at a European level

• collecting, interpreting and reporting of data on vaccine-preventable diseases

• maintening and developing the EUVAC.NET website (www.euvac.net)

• updating national childhood vaccination programmes on the EUVAC.NET website

• moderating the EUVAC.NET website’s forum used primarily for the notification of outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases
